The Otava Cup is one of the most popular tournaments in the Czech Republic. Major components for this success are the experienced organizers, the strong Czech participation and of course the friendly town of Susice with its picturesque grand square. Also for its inhabitants, the Otava Cup is really a big event. After arrival at the stadium of TJ Susice, teams are welcomed by their hosts and informed about the programme. In the evening the official part of the tournament will start with a reception for the team leaders in the town hall of Susice, where all are welcomed by the Major. On Saturday the preliminaries start at the different locations. After dinner all participants are invited for a parade through the town, accompanied by music and majorettes. The finals will be played in the stadium of TJ Susice followed by the prize-giving ceremony. Meanwhile all team leaders will be invited for a farewell drink. In the evening one of the local nightclubs will open its doors especially for the participants.

As well as participation at the tournament, Euro-Sportring also arranges the accommodation for the participants. Participants can usually choose between school accommodation, group accommodation (youth accommodation and bungalows) and hotels. Susice (12.000 inhabitants). Susice is one of the main tourist resorts in the Bohemian Forest. It's situated between Pilsen (approx. 24 miles) and the German border. From the town centre, one can see as far as Germany and Austria. Susice offers a friendly market square with some monumental buildings. The town is especially well known for the production of matches since the beginning of the nineteenth century. After the Swedish, the match industry in Susice is the biggest in the world.

Tourists that visit Susice do not only appreciate the friendly town, but also the natural surroundings. Susice is known as one of the gateways to the Sumava Natural park. This mountaineous area is also known as 'The green roof of Europe' and has earned itself a place on the Unesco list as a Biospheric reservation. The woodlands and numerous lakes offer perfect opportunities for outdoor activities. Around Susice there are several places to swim. Castles. Bohemia is castle country, a number of which are still in very good condition. There are various impressive examples nearby Suöice, for example the ruins and the bridge of Velhartice castle (8 miles to the west) and Rabi castle (7.5 km north west of Suöice). The keep was built in the 14th century.
