The attractiveness of the Spa town Karlsbad, the fine grass pitches and experienced organisers make the Karlsbad Cup a great success and therefore more and more teams come back every year. On arrival clubs will be welcomed by their hosts and informed about the programme. In the evening team leaders are invited for a get-together in the restaurant of Hotel Marttel. In the meantime the players can enjoy some sightseeing in the interesting town centre of Karlsbad. On Saturday the preliminaries start at the different tournament locations. The schedule is planned in such a way that there will be enough time to make an excursion. Karlsbad as well as Mariënbad (approx. 32 miles) are famous all over the world for their natural spa's and a visit may be a good suggestion for a relaxing moment after a tiring day. Depending of course of the results of the teams the whole Sunday will be spent on the pitches. The finals are planned in the stadium of AC Start. After the prize-giving ceremony, team leaders are invited for a farewell drink in the restaurant of the stadium. The evening is free for disco or sightseeing in Marienbad.

As well as participation at the tournament, Euro-Sportring also arranges the accommodation for the participants. Participants can usually choose between school accommodation, group accommodation (youth accommodation and bungalows) and hotels. KARLSBAD (Karlovy Vary). This biggest spa town in the Czech Republic, a town with a long tradition (600 years) has 60,000 inhabitants. Karlsbad is on the west border of the republic, ca. 75 miles from Prague and 50 miles north from Pilzen. The town is situated at 370 meters above sea level and is surrounded by hills up to 650 meters. As nature rarity you can observe 12 curative thermal springs (42ÉC-72ÉC) and very impressive is the architecture. MARIENBAD (Marianske Lazne) (approx. 32 miles). This world famous spa with 25,000 inhabitants is located at the southern tip of the Slavkovsky Forest Landscape Arc. The town lies in a wooded valley at about 630 meter above sealevel and is literally bubbling with rich mineral water. There are 40 springs within the town. There is a refreshing subalpine climate, ideal for the area's beautiful forests and parks.

WHAT NOT TO MISS:

- Mill Colonnade. An example of Neo Renaissance architecture. Next to this the Park Colonnade, Market Colonnade, Castle Colonnade are worth a visit too. - Spas. There are 12 different Spas. Spa 1 is the Kaiserbad, one of the most important buildings in the town. - View points. Diana (547 m above sea level). The viewing tower and the restaurant date back to 1914. They can be reached by a cable way (1912). - Town centre. Many cafes, sweet shops, discos, shopping streets make the centre a very lively one! Those who wish to gamble, can go to even two casinos. A famous cafe is the Deer's Jump Cafe and near the lake you will find the open air restaurant and beer house "Small Versailles". - Indoor swimming pool 'Thermal': price Euro 1 (approx. 60p) per hour. - At 12 miles from Karlsbad (Karlovy Vary) the famous castle 'Loket' is worth a visit.
