Coppa Clodia Chioggia, Italy - 22 untill 23 May 2010 (Whitsun) (it)

Being one of the main attractions along the Litoral, a visit to Chioggia is an attraction on itself. Nevertheless, AS Sottomarina Calcio has prepared an intensive programme. On Friday evening all teamleaders are invited for the teamleaders reception, at a typical spot in Chioggia. Saturday the tournament starts off with the preliminaries on different pitches in and around Chioggia. In the evening the participants are welcomed in the historical centre Chioggia at a special ceremony. Sunday morning all the preliminaries will be played, followed by the semi finals on the several fields. The finals will be played in the stadium of Chioggia. After the teamleaders match a festive price-giving ceremony will follow during the finals all participants can experience the local fish specialties during the friture mista di pesce. To complete this fantastic tournament there will be a big fire-works show.

As well as participation at the tournament, Euro-Sportring arranges the accommodation for the participants. Participants can choose between 2 and 3 star hotels. The accommodations have been selected with care and must comply to a number of conditions such are they are within easy reach of the sports park, value for money, suitable for sports groups, safety provisions and a flexible management. Venice, is around 28 miles away. The famous city of gondolas built on small islands connected by bridges. See the famous Rialto bridge and the San Marco church with its spacious frontage and the numerous terraces. Make a trip by Gondola through the innumerable canals or see the famous glass works of Murano. A visit of Venice is an absolute must!

Worth seeing in Venice: * The Rialto bridge over the Canal Grande is an experience in itself. Numerous market traders, selling mainly souvenirs, provide a colourful and theatrical scene.
* The house of Marco Polo. This is the birthplace of the famous explorer, located at the Corte del Million courtyard.
* The Piazza San Marco, which is the first stop of the bus-boat from Punto Sabbioni, is a great place to be in daytime but certainly also in the evening. Time to stroll around and enjoy a drink at the historic Florian or Quadri.

Chioggia.
Chioggia is situated on the Adriatic Coast. The town has about 55.000 inhabitants, including the beach resort Sottomarina. The well lined up ìcalliä, the characteristic streets, its picturesque canals, the typical boats and the narrow houses reflecting in the water, make Chioggia a unique town. The Roman origin and the deeds of the Serenissima Repubblica have left indelible marks in the art and architecture of the town. And finally the sandy shore, with the incomparable sand of Sottomarina beaches and Isolaverde which makes of these locations even an occasion for a revitalising stay.
