Copa Maresme I Blanes - Tordera, Spain - 22 untill 23 May 2010 (Whitsun) (es)

Be prepared for a stay full of attractions when visiting the Copa Maresme. The group matches will be planned in a compact schedule, so that the participating teams will have some time to enjoy the numerous attractions in the area and perhaps even a visit of the beautiful city of Barcelona and its famous Nou Camp football stadium can be inserted! The tournament will start on Saturday morning with the first group matches. A part of the group matches continue on Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon all attention will be focused on the finals, directly followed by the prize-giving ceremony at the pitches.

As well as participation at the tournament, Euro-Sportring also arranges the accommodation for the participants. Participants can usually choose between school accommodation, group accommodation (youth accommodation and bungalows) and hotels. The accommodation we offer has been selected with care and must comply to a number of conditions such as are they within easy reach of the sports park, do they provide value for money, are they suitable for sports groups, are they safe and are the management flexible. The area north of Barcelona accommodates a chain of popular seaside resorts. Especially in the area between Calella and Tossa de Mar you will find kilometres wide, sandy beaches and a lot of entertainment. Each resort has its own characteristics and attractions: Calella with its bustling centre, the beach of Santa Susanna, the charming atmosphere of Malgrat, the picturesque boulevard with the fisherman's wharf in Blanes, the exciting attractions of Lloret and the breath taking cliffs of the Costa Brava around Tossa de Mar. Wherever you stay, it is for sure that you won't have enough time to explore all the attractions in this area.Barcelona. Who does not know the great attractions of this beautiful Olympic city? If not, go for it, because Barcelona is truly a unique city. You will need more than a day to explore the centre. Nevertheless you can catch the spirit if you follow the following programme: the Sagrada Familia - one of the landmarks of Barcelona, the cathedral by Gaudi with a bizarre architecture, Plaza de Cataluña and the Ramblas - the heart of the city full of shops, restaurants and terraces, the gothic quarter - with its narrow, picturesque alleys, the Mount Juic - the mountain right in the centre with the Olympic facilities, castle and attraction park plus of course a magnificent view over the city and the sea, Plaza España - the square with the famous fountains and beautiful palace. And of course you should visit the stadium of F.C. Barcelona, because a visit to this impressive Nou Camp Stadium is the climax for the real football fan. More information: www.bcn.cat

Leisure activities:

* Boat trip. Cruise and admire the coast line of the Costa Brava and the Costa Maresma between Tossa de Mar and Calella. See the historic sites, the remaining of the occupations by the Greeks and the Romans, the botanical gardens of Blanes, the beaches of Lloret and the medievel town of Tossa. The boat cruises according to a fixed schedule visiting all main resorts along the coast.

* The Botanic Gardens/Blanes. The Botanic Gardens of Blanes, founded in the beginning of the 20th century, is one of the most beautiful Botanic Gardens of Europe with an area of 16 hectares. About a million plants (in a diversity of over 6000 species), divided in four main areas. A stroll through the gardens takes you to the cliffs of the coast with breathtaking views of the Costa Brava.

* Flamenco Show/St. Susanna. Spanish night in an old Catalan Farm House in Santa Susanna . Enjoy the ambience and art of southern Spain with a great flamenco show and afterwards you can try your own moves on the dance floor. Note: other excellent options are in Tordera and Lloret de Mar.

* Waterworld/Lloret de Mar. Waterworld situated at about 2 km from the centre of Lloret de Mar on the way to Tordera. Waterworld is more than only a water parc and offers exciting water attractions: Water Mountain (roller coaster) and Rafting River (Europe's biggest water chute), the X-treme Mountain, a Big Dipper over 260 meters long, Storm (two big funnels), Wild River and the Wave Pool. All that and more... Of course you will also find a bar, an ice-shop, restaurants, souvenir shop, changing rooms, showers, a swimming pool. Waterworld is open from mid May until the end of September. * Marineland/Palafolls. Marineland is an attractive combination of dolphinarium/marine zoo and water park, situated in Palafolls between Malgrat de Mar and Blanes. The visitors can be guaranteed of a day full of fun. The marine zoo (65.000 m²) houses dolphins, seals, sea lions, parrots, penguins, etc. The 40.000 m² of the water park include swimming pools, straight and spiral slides like Boomerang, Crazy Race, Twister, Super Slalom, Black Hole and Anaconda (slide down in total darkness). There are also a lot of attractions for the younger kids. Of course the park offers bar, restaurants, showers, changing rooms and gift shop.
