Welcome to Wolfsberg! Get ready for an outstanding mixture of wide international competition with first-class hospitality and entertainment. No time to sit back! After arrival and check-in on Wednesday, all participants are invited to the welcome activities in the evening; team leaders will receive detailed information about their stay during a special briefing session and afterwards all participants will enjoy the spectacular Opening Ceremony and firework display. The evening continues with the first Alpen Cup Disco where everyone can get to know each other. The fully filled programme ensures at least 6 matches for each team during the 3 tournament days. Also for the evenings enough is planned to make the “non – soccer” hours just as exciting. The tournament starts on Thursday with the preliminary rounds. In the evening the team leaders are invited to their own official reception at the Town Hall and once again the Alpen Cup Disco will fill the evening for all guests with enough energy. Friday is the second day of the preliminary rounds and the evening is filled with an open-air Concert, with live music, in the stadium. The tournament classification will be decided on Saturday with the finals in the stadium in the afternoon. The final evening is for the reward ceremony and farewell party.

As well as participation at the tournament, Euro-Sportring also arranges the accommodation for the participants. Participants can usually choose between school accommodation, group accommodation (youth accommodation and bungalows) and hotels. Accommodations have been selected with care and must comply to a number of conditions such are they are within easy reach of the sports park, value for money, suitable for sports groups, safety provisions and a flexible management. Wolfsberg (30000 inhabitants) the capital of the Lavanttal (valley of river Lavant)is situated between Graz and Klagenfurt in the south of Austria. The Lavant has divided the town into two parts. The origins of Wolfsberg date from the last years of the 12th century. In the centre you can find many historical buildings in gothic and renaissance style, especially at the 'Hohe Platz' and the 'Getreidenmarkt'. The beautiful castle 'Schloss Wolfsberg' has an interesting Mausoleum. Apart from the historical meaning, Wolfsberg is also a nice tourist centre with attractive taverns shops and terraces.

Klagenfurt, 25 miles from Wolfsberg, is a great place all year round. The town situated on the shores of the warmest Alpine lake is full of parks and has a wide range of facilities to suit all visitors; whether its sports, shopping or culture á there's something to suit everybody. The 'Rose of Lake Wörthersee', as Klagenfurt is known, has a mild southern climate and is one of Austria's most beautiful old city centres. The friendly inhabitants and culinary delights gives Klagenfurt's a special ambiance of hospitality. Stroll along the large lakeside lido or take a dive in the water which is good enough to drink. And when the lake freezes over in the winter you have Europe's largest open-air ice rink.

Leisure activities:
* Swimming centre near the stadium in Wolfsberg. Very nice relaxing facility with different pools, surrounded by grass fields. Reduced entrance fee for Alpen Cup participants 2007: € 1,50 per day.
* Minigolf. Minigolf beside the football stadium. Opening hours: 10.00 - 20.00 hrs. Entree fee approx: € 1,50 per person.
* Go-kart Indoor. Go-Kart indoor exciting racing possibilities in a hall situated at 4 kilometers from the stadium. Opening hours: 11.00 - 20.00 hrs. Fee approx: € 15,00 per person.
* Kegeln. Kegeln a funny variety on bowling, possible to be played on different locations in the centre of Wolfsberg. Opening hours: 11.00 - 23.00 hrs. Fee approx: € 12,50 per hour, independently the number of players. Open hours: until darkness.

The Wörthersee is called the 'Austrian Riviera'. It is the largest lake of Carinthia and has still clean water! The climate is such that there are many bathing resorts of which the most important are Velden, a quiet with a nice lakeside promenade), Pörtschach, situated on a peninsula with it's flower promenade) and Maria Wörth, also on a peninsula with many historical buildings. Also Minimundus, the small town on the lake, is worth a visit.

“Rodeln” is to discover the mountains in a speedy way. This sliding track is appr. 1800 meters long and gives you an exciting feeling while flashing down the mountain like a racer.
