As well as participation at the tournament, Euro-Sportring also arranges the accommodation for the participants. Participants can usually choose between school accommodation, group accommodation (youth accommodation and bungalows) and hotels. The accommodation we offer has been selected with care and must comply to a number of conditions, such as: are they within easy reach of the sports park, do they provide value for money, are they suitable for sports groups, are they safe and is the management flexible.

This international youth football tournament in Maastricht in the Netherlands yearly attracts about sixty teams from various countries. The great interest in the Geusselt Cup is easy to explain: the sports park has no less than eleven grass pitches and the friendly city of Maastricht is only a few minutes away. The city offers attractions for anyone, whether you like shopping, culture or going out. The wide international participation at this tournament surely has something to do with the laid back atmosphere in the most southern part of the Netherlands. Touristic information
Maastricht.
The friendly Burgundian city in the very south of the Netherlands almost seems 'foreign'. No wonder really, so close to Germany and Belgium. It's a stylish city, the main city of the slightly hilly, green province of Zuid-Limburg. This city of Roman origin on the river Meuse is seen as being one of the most sociable in the whole of the Netherlands. Maastricht is a city with something to suit all tastes: whether you love culture or history, simply sauntering around or sightseeing, shopping and evenings out: Maastricht is the place to be. The heart of the city is the Vrijthof, also known as 'Maastricht's sitting room', due to all the pavement cafés and restaurants here. A visit to St. Pietersberg caves, a few miles outside the city, is not to be missed.

Maastricht/some tips:
Shopping, Maastricht is the ideal shopping city. The historic shopping streets are a wonderful sight! Between the beautiful St. Servaesbridge, the Markt and the Vrijthof, you can shop to your heart's delight. There's a wonderful indoor shopping centre on the outskirts of the city centre: The Brusselse Poort.
The Vrijthof and the Onze Lieve Vrouweplein are the most popular spots to enjoy a snack and a drink. It's always fun here, with crowds from early morning until late in the evening. Maastricht has plenty to offer in terms of entertainment. There is no end to (music) cafes, wine bars and discos, making this city the top of the bill for evenings out. The Burgundian attitude here is reflected in the many restaurants: something to suit all tastes!

Valkenburg (15 km from Maastricht).
Valkenburg is one of the most popular tourist resort of the Dutch province Limburg. The town offers a pleasant centre with a lot of entertainment. Special attractions are the 'Thermae 2000', a luxury thermal centre with for instance a string of swimming pools, saunas and Turkish bathes, the 'Sprookjesbos', an amusement park with various attractions and presentations of fairy tales and the chair lift to the Wilhelmina tower.

Program introduction
The Geusselt Cup is one of the largest Spring tournaments in the Netherlands and is highly valued each year by the participants. The teams can count on an extensive sportprogram at the Geusselt Cup. Apart from the matches various activities will be organised around the complex. On Friday evening the players have the evening free to get acclimatized or visit Maastricht centre. If the professional club MVV plays a home game there is the possibility to buy tickets through the website of the tournament. The tournament starts after a colourful opening on Saturday morning. After a few opening words of Maastrichts' Sports councillor the players can get started. The Geusselt Cup welcomes everyone to the festive evening with disco at the local party-centre at the tournament complex. On Sunday the Geusselt Cup will be finalized in the afternoon after the last matches. Professional football players/coaches of 1st division club MVV will be present to hand the trophies to the captains of the winning team. The last evening is free for all to enjoy the city-center of Maastricht or to share a last few hours with their hosts at the clubhouse.
